Final Fantasy 16

There will be no delays for Final Fantasy 16so those who’ve been keenly anticipating the action RPG’s launch in June can stop sweating. Its development team has been saying for a while that the game is in the final stages of production, and it seems it has now crossed the finish line.

Taking recently to Twitter, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 16 has gone gold. That means principal development has wrapped up and its master copy is now ready to be sent out and printed onto retail discs. While the development team is likely to continue working on the game as it looks to polish it further in the weeks ahead, all of that will arrive in the form of pre-launch or day one patches.

Recently, Square Enix showed off a new trailer for Final Fantasy 16, showcasing its world and exploration gameplay. A lengthy panel at PAX East also showed off more gameplay footage, including Eikon battles, combat, and much more.

Final Fantasy 16 is due out for the PS5 on June 22. A demo will be released roughly a couple of weeks before release, and players will be able to carry over save data into the full game. Square Enix also wants to release a PC version of the game, but it’s unlikely to launch anytime soon after the PS5 version.
